Chicago, IL, June 21, 2006--Install Floor covering professionals in the Chicago region now have a brand new, state-of-the-art training center to learn their craft. The center officially opened June 3, with a grand opening and open house festivities to showcase the various technical assets of the center.
Install Chicago is the region’s floor covering program of the International Standards and Training Alliance, the industry’s top flooring installation training program.
As the floor covering division of the Chicago Regional Council, Install Chicago apprentices and journeymen will benefit from using expanded hands-on training areas, new equipment and various job site mock-ups at the new training center, located at 1645 Greenleaf Avenue, in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
“This training center is able to service floor covering training at all levels, from requests that manufactures, mill representatives, and contractors may have, to learning about safety and new products,” said Install Chicago Coordinator Keith Jutkins. “We can handle it all.”
The new center is more than nine times larger than the former facility: measuring 28,000 square feet compared to the former center’s 3,000. The 22 double level work stations allow for multiple training to be done simultaneously. Room is also now available for visiting manufacturers to host classes or certification courses.
