INSTALL Launches Warranty Program

Chicago, IL, June 17, 2013

INSTALL, the North American alliance of flooring and flooring-related manufacturers, consultants, associations and contractors, launched its new Warranty & Certified Contractor program at this year’s NeoCon expo, held annually in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart. John McGrath, director of INSTALL, formally announced the program, alongside Michel Vermette, Mohawk’s senior vice president of international and commercial, and Leonard Zmijewski, president of Mr. David’s International Flooring.

            Thanks to the new program, INSTALL now guarantees the work of its certified contractors, covering commercial and residential installations of carpet, resilient and hardwood. According to McGrath, this is the first warranty of its kind in the flooring industry, a third-party additional guarantee provided by the INSTALL committee.

            According to Vermette, improperly installed floorcoverings are one of the biggest complaints in construction. “The INSTALL Warranty on labor combined with the Certified Contractor program will mitigate this major disruption for end users and the A&D community. The best product in the world is only as good as its installation. Mohawk believes this warranty program will minimize disruptions for end users, increase performance of the project lifecycle and create higher customer satisfaction.”
