Initial Unemployment Claims Fall Again
Washington, DC, April 7, 2011 -- Initial unemployment claims fell 10,000 in the week ended April 2 to 382,000, the fewest since Feb. 26, according to the Labor Department.
Economists projected claims would be 385,000.
The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, dropped to 389,500 from 395,250.
The number of people continuing to collect jobless benefits declined by 9,000 in the week ended March 26 to 3.72 million.
