Initial Jobless Claims Tick Down Last Week

Washington, DC, Jan. 22, 2015 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits last week fell by 10,000 from the previous week, according to the Labor Department.

Claims fell to a seasonally adjusted 307,000 in the week ended Jan. 17.

The prior week’s number was revised higher to 317,000 claims from an initially reported 316,000.

The four-week moving average rose by 6,500 to 306,500.
