Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 8,000 in Week Ending May 31
Washington, DC, June 5, 2025-In the week ending May 31, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 247,000, an increase of 8,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor.
The previous week's level was revised down by 1,000 from 240,000 to 239,000. The four-week moving average was 235,000, an increase of 4,500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised down by 250 from 230,750 to 230,500.
