Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 55K to 286K in Second Week of Jan.

Washington, DC, January 20, 2022-In the week ending January 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 286,000, an increase of 55,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 230,000 to 231,000. The four-week moving average was 231,000, an increase of 20,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 210,750 to 211,000.
