Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 2,000 in Week Ending May 27

Washington, DC, June 1, 2023-In the week ending May 27, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 232,000, an increase of 2,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 229,000 to 230,000. The four-week moving average was 229,500, a decrease of 2,500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 231,750 to 232,000.
