Initial Jobless Claims Rose 13,000 in Week Ending June 8

Washington, DC, June 13, 2024-In the week ending June 8, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 242,000, an increase of 13,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 229,000, according to the Department of Labor. 

The four-week moving average was 227,000, an increase of 4,750 from the previous week's unrevised average of 222,250.
