Initial Jobless Claims Remain Low Last Week

Washington, DC, June 4, 2015 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits last week remained near a 15-year low, according to the Labor Department.

Initial jobless claims totaled 276,000 in the period running from May 24 to May 30.

That was down 8,000 from the prior week, the latest figures from the Labor Department show.

The four-week average edged up 2,750 to 274,750.
