Initial Jobless Claims Fall Again

Washington, DC, Nov. 6, 2014 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits fell by 10,000 to 278,000 in the week ended Nov. 1, the Labor Department said

That's the second smallest number since the end of the Great Recession and one of the lowest in 35 years.

Economists expected claims to total 285,000. The four-week average of new claims fell by 2,250 to 279,000, a 14-year low.
