Initial Jobless Claims Edge Higher Last Week
Washington, DC, June 12, 2014 -- Initial claims for unemployment benefits edged up 4,000 to 317,000 last week, according to the Labor Department.
Analysts had expected the number to fall by 3,000 to 310,000.
Continuing jobless claims in the week ended May 31 rose to 2.614 million from 2.603 million in the previous week.
