Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 5,000 in Week Ending June 14

Washington, DC, June 18, 2025- In the week ending June 14, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 245,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 2,000 from 248,000 to 250,000. The four-week moving average was 245,500, an increase of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average. This is the highest level for this average since August 19, 2023 when it was 246,000. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 240,250 to 240,750.
