Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 5,000 in Week Ending July 5

Washington, DC, July 10, 2025-In the week ending July 5, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 227,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised down by 1,000 from 233,000 to 232,000. The four-week moving average was 235,500, a decrease of 5,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised down by 250 from 241,500 to 241,250.
