Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 5,000 in Week Ending February 7

Washington, DC, February 12, 2026-In the week ending February 7, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 227,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 231,000 to 232,000. The four-week moving average was 219,500, an increase of 7,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 212,250 to 212,500.
