Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 13,000 in Week Ending Dec. 13

Washington, DC, December 18, 2025-In the week ending December 13, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 224,000, a decrease of 13,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 236,000 to 237,000. The four-week moving average was 217,500, an increase of 500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 216,750 to 217,000.
