Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 10,000 in Week Ending August 19
Washington, DC, August 24, 2023-In the week ending August 19, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 230,000, a decrease of 10,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor.
The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 239,000 to 240,000. The four-week moving average was 236,750, an increase of 2,250 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 234,250 to 234,500.
