Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 1,000 in Week Ending March 9

Washington, DC, March 14, 2024-In the week ending March 9, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 209,000, a decrease of 1,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised down by 7,000 from 217,000 to 210,000. The four-week moving average was 208,000, a decrease of 500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised down by 3,750 from 212,250 to 208,500.
