Industry Delegation to Participate in Beijing Exhi
Kneeland, CA, September 12, 2005--A flooring industry delegation representing firms in the U.S. and Canada will participate in the sixth China International Floor Coverings & Carpet Fair being held at the Chinese International Exhibition Center in Beijing September 13–16. The group is sponsored by the Chinese International Exhibition Corporation (CIEC) and organized by Dave Spreen, president of Dave Spreen Enterprises, Inc. After participating in opening ceremonies, a special meeting has been arranged with exhibitors at the show. A meeting area in Hall 4 will be set up with individual booths for each company in the industry delegation. Over 40 exhibitors have scheduled meetings with various delegates based on registration forms they submitted. Interpreters will be available. Companies and associations represented by members of the delegation include: Andros Floor Design; Butler-Johnson Corporation; Diversified Foam Products; ETM Distributing; Floor Covering Soft; Golden Trim Enterprises Inc.; J. H. Freed & Sons; National Hardwood Flooring & Moulding; and the National Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD). Dave Spreen and Steve Johnson, VP of Butler-Johnson and incoming president of the NAFCD, will be giving presentations focusing on the U.S. flooring industry at the exhibition seminar. Other presenters' topics include developments in the Chinese flooring industry in the last year, how Chinese laminate flooring manufacturers confront anti-dumping and trade barriers, and business opportunities for the flooring industry in China related to preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Members of the industry delegation have also been invited to attend the 10th anniversary celebration of the China National Forest Products Industry Association (CNFPIA) to be held in the Radisson SAS Hotel adjacent to the exhibition grounds. Organized by the Chinese Flooring Committee and CIEC, the 5th China International Floor Coverings & Carpet Fair (Floor Coverings 2004) drew over 150 exhibitors. The 4-day event attracted 13,000 domestic and overseas trade visitors to see a wide range of flooring products displayed in the 100,000 sq. ft. exhibition hall.
