Industrial Production Rises in September
Washington, DC, Oct. 17, 2011 -- Industrial production rose 0.2% in September, marking a third-quarter rebound for the manufacturing sector, the Federal Reserve said.
However, August’s reading was downwardly revised to zero from an initially reported 0.2% growth.
September’s increase was led by business equipment production, which rose 1% on the month and is up 10.3% from September 2010 levels.
For the third quarter as a whole, industrial production rose at a 5.1% annual pace.
