Varanasi, India, October 21, 2005--India Carpet Export, which concluded on October 17, 2005, generated a business of over Rs 1 billion during its three-day exposition at Varanasi.
The Export Oriented Fair was attended by 108 exhibitors from different parts of the country and 92 overseas buyers.
The Fair was organised by the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) and All India Carpet Trade Fair Committee (AICTFC).
In addition to displays of latest designs of carpets and a varied range of floor coverings, the fair also had interactive workshop on various subjects.
CEPC has projected to achieve an export target of US$650 million in the current financial year.
The next fair will be held in February 2006 at New Delhi, a CEPC release said today.
