Import Prices Decline in August
Washington, DC, Sept. 13, 2011 -- Prices fell on products imported into the U.S. in August, according to the Labor Department.
It was the second decline in three months as the cost of oil and food dropped while autos stabilized.
The 0.4% decline in the import-price index followed a 0.3% increase in July.
Economists projected a larger 0.8% decrease.
