IICRC's New Mold Standard Nears Completion

Vanvouver, WA, May 12--The S520 Mold Standard Committee for the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC – www.iicrc.org) met for its ninth meeting in eight months in Las Vegas, NV on May 4 -6, to review and accept various drafts of the upcoming IICRC S520 Standard and Reference Guide for Mold Remediation. The guide will be finalized over the next few months and should be published by mid-summer 2003. At that time it will be available for purchase from IICRC headquarters. Future meetings will be devoted to finalizing the standard section of the S520. The IICRC S520 Mold Standard Committee continues to work in cooperation with the IICRC S500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration Revision Committee in updating information for the industry. Members of the committee and sub-committees include representatives from NADCA, IAQA, AIAQC, IICRC, ISCT, IEI, ASCR, CRI, NCCA, Belfor and the University of Tulsa.
