IICRC Names 2005 Executive Committee

Vancouver, WA, December 8--The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (www.IICRC.org) elected its 2005 Executive Committee during its Board of Directors’ meeting on November 8. The annual election, which took place in Las Vegas, Nev., re-elected six of the seven existing Executive Committee members. The new committee positions were effective on November 8. The Executive Committee for the upcoming year includes: Chairman, Carey Vermeulen; International Vice President, Paul Pearce; 1st Vice President, Darrell Paulson; 2nd Vice President, Ruth Travis; Secretary, Mike Reed; Treasurer, Ed Hobbs; and Certification Council Chair, Joe Dobbins. The established committee offers a wealth of experience and dedication to the organization and its registrants. Vermeulen is entering his second term as Chairman and is a 21-year veteran of the cleaning and restoration industry. He is the former chairman of the Upholstery Cleaning TAC, chairman of the S300 Upholstery Cleaning Standard and is an IICRC Master Textile Cleaner and Master Fire and Smoke Restorer. New to the Board for 2005 is Ed Hobbs, an industry veteran with more than 20 years’ experience. In addition to serving as the IICRC representative for the Mid-South Professional Cleaners Association (MSPCA) since 1999, Hobbs is the longest serving member of the MSPCA’s Board of Directors, where he held Board-level positions (treasurer, vice president and president) from 1990 to 2001. The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is a non-profit certifying body for the flooring inspection, floor covering and specialized fabric cleaning and disaster restoration industries. Organized in 1972, the IICRC currently represents more than 3,500 Certified Firms and more than 33,000 Certified Technicians in 30 countries. The IICRC, with participation from the entire industry, sets standards for inspection, cleaning and disaster restoration. IICRC does not own schools, employ instructors, produce training materials, or promote specific product brands, cleaning methods or systems. It approves schools and instructors that meet the criteria established by the IICRC. IICRC also serves as a consumer referral source for Certified Firms and Inspectors.
