Hunter Douglas Buys Elmar Window Fashions

Amsterdam, Holland, January 26, 2006--Dutch window coverings maker Hunter Douglas has acquired U.S. company Elmar Window Fashions. Hunter Douglas did not disclose financial details. Elmar Window Fashions, based near Philadelphia, had sales of $61 million in 2005 and employs 350 people, Hunter Douglas said in a statement. The company is a wholesale distributor of Hunter Douglas products and also makes a range of Hunter Douglas products, which it sells through retailers along the east coast of the United States, the Dutch company said. Hunter Douglas, headquartered in Rotterdam, is the world market leader in window coverings and a major manufacturer of architectural products with brands such as Luxaflex, Luxalon, Duette and Silhouette. In 2004 it posted sales of 1.72 million euros.
