Housing Starts Exceed Expectations

Washington, DC, January 21, 2015--Housing starts rose 4.4% in December to an annualized pace of 1.09, according to Business Insider. This rise exceeds expectations, which were set at a 1.2% rise to an annualized pace of 1.04%.

However, building permits declined 1.9% to a pace of 1.03, which is below expectations. Building permits were expected to rise 0.8% to an annualized pace of 1.06 million.
