Housewares Show Gets Makeover

Rosemont, IL, Mar. 13--When the International Housewares Show moves to March in 2004, the spring timeframe won't be the only thing new about the housewares industry's premier market event. The 2004 show will feature: New or expanded categories, including the Gourmet Home & Food District, the Uptown Tabletop District and Patio Park; a life style theme in show décor and signage; and a name that reflects the show's evolution to a homegoods marketplace, the International Home & Housewares Show. The show is sponsored and managed by the not-for-profit International Housewares Association. The 2004 Show will be held March 20-22 at Chicago's McCormick Place. For 2004 only, the show will be held on a Saturday to Monday schedule. It will move back to a Sunday to Tuesday schedule in 2005 and subsequent years. "Since its inception in 1939, the International Housewares Show has served as a vital marketplace for buyers and sellers," said Bob Sachs, chairman of the IHA board of directors and president of Arden Companies. "Based on significant input from our exhibitors and attendees over the years, the show has undergone an evolution with the sole purpose of adding value for all participants. The expanded name better describes the show, while the new categories and an emphasis on design and innovation will add value for buyers and exhibitors alike."
