House Prices Continue Upward Trend

New York, NY, April 29, 2014 -- Single-family home prices rose in February, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller composite index of 20 metropolitan areas.

Prices in the 20 cities in February rose 12.9% year over year.

The index rose 0.8% from February on a seasonally adjusted basis.

"Despite continued price gains, most other housing statistics are weak," said David Blitzer, chairman of the index committee at S&P Dow Jones Indices, in a press release.
