Dollar Bay, MI, September 7, 2006--Hourly workers at the Horner Flooring Company are on strike. The company is located in the Upper Peninsula community of Dollar Bay.
Union members walked out this morning, right after midnight.
They voted for the strike last week..., but talks continued as recently as yesterday.
Union shop steward Bob Parsons says wages and health insurance coverage are the issues.
Company president Doug Hamar declined comment on details of the talks but said Horner's offer was fair.
