Honeywell Recognizes Kraft Food Facility Manager

Dalton, GA, February 21--Honeywell Zeftron nylon acknowledged Charles Shifflett of Kraft Foods Global for his recent participation in Floor Focus magazine’s "2004 Facility Managers Speak" survey. Shifflett was chosen at random from a cross-section of the top 500 U.S. facility managers selected to participate in the survey. "By understanding how our targeted buyers’ needs change, we can provide products and services more tailored to their requests," said Tim Blount, manager of commercial marketing products for Honeywell Nylon. "We are pleased to extend our sponsorship to the 2004 Facility Managers Speak award because of the benefits it provides to the industry through greater understanding of facilities manager’s requirements." Floor Focus magazine began conducting the survey to provide the floor covering industry better insight into what motivates its targeted audience to purchase certain products. The respondents, all facility managers for companies ranked in the Fortune 500, a ranking provided by Fortune magazine based on revenue, come from a variety of backgrounds including facility management, interior design, architecture, maintenance and purchasing. The participants were asked to respond to questions such as, "What companies do you think are leaders in the green movement?" and "Who do you turn to for objective and accurate information about product details?" One of the most revealing questions in the survey asked participants to rank their priorities when determining what floor coverings to buy. Roughly one third of the respondents chose performance and appearance retention as their top priority, while price and service received only 10 percent of their votes. The answers help carpet manufacturers, fiber manufacturers and flooring contractors alike provide their customers with the product and service they are demanding in today’s marketplace. This is Zeftron nylon’s first sponsorship of the "Facility Managers Speak" survey. Floor Focus magazine began conducting the survey in 1998 and has evaluated facility managers every other year since the survey’s introduction.
