Las Vegas, NV, January 25--Chameleon neutrals, traditional colors laced with white undertones and Latin and Asian influences will be among the hot new trends in home interior color palettes throughout 2005, according to the new "Anso Nylon 2005 Color Trend Palette."
Developed by Anso nylon color expert and A.S.I.D. interior designer Annette Callari, the 2005 color palette, which consists of 15 colors, will be available in early spring to floor covering dealers by logging on to Anso nylon’s dealer web site, www.ansoadvantage.com.
Each color has been given a specific name, such as True Blush or Coral Ice, as well as a brief description to help dealers understand its color origin or know how it can be applied to a home decorating project. Dealers and their retail salespeople can use the palette as a tool to help customers select the right carpet for their home based on their customers’ individual interior color schemes.
Drawing inspiration from a wide array of industries, including fashion and automotive, the 2005 color palette "provides every consumer with refreshing color options, which means there is truly something for everyone," according to Callari.
Callari says chameleon neutrals will be among the hottest color trends of 2005 because of their ability to adapt to existing surroundings and blend with many home interior color schemes. Chameleon neutrals are comprised of more than the traditional neutral colors of the past such as beige and taupe. Lush shades of green and icy grays infused with white undertones make today’s neutrals more inviting and versatile than ever.
"Chameleon neutrals blend easily with a full spectrum of different color schemes," said Callari. "These complex colors create harmony and adapt well to complementary, analogous or monochromatic color schemes—whatever the consumer desires."
Another major color trend for 2005 will be the introduction of Luxury colors for the home such as Rich Brew, a vivid shade of brown and Canyon Red, a deep, rich alternative to the traditional shade of red. According to Callari, these colors cater to the preferences of the ever-growing baby boomer generation and their desire for luxurious, warm colors such as browns and even nature-based shades of purple, which work well alone or with soft greens and even stainless steel.
Many of the 2005 colors represent optimism and spirit as opposed to the muted colors of the last few years. By adding white undertones to color mainstays of the past, new hues are created giving the impression the colors are lit from within. As seen in Aquavida, a restful, light-infused tint of blue, 2004 grays and muted colors are being transformed into lighter, more Zen-like chromas in 2005.
While cool, light-infused hues will dominate the color trends of 2005, warm colors based on Latin and Asian influences will also be present in home interior products. These include Coral Ice, a Latin-influenced warm pink; Parrot, a bright, sassy green; and Positano, a golden shade of yellow reminiscent of the Mediterranean style. All these colors will be considered neutrals and can be used with everything from accessories to paint color and carpeting.
"These colors lay a rich foundation for the whole house, and they’re so easy to pair with other colors," said Callari. "There's a new comfort level with color, so we’re pleased to provide our 2005 color projections to dealers as they seek to give their customers home design solutions that involve carpets made with Anso nylon."
