Homebuilder Horton’s Orders Up 23% in 2Q

Fort Worth, TX, April 7—-Homebuilder D.R. Horton aid it home orders were up 23 percent in its fiscal second quarter, lifted by greater volume during the period. For the three months ended March 31, net sales orders were $4.1 billion, up from $3.3 billion the year before. Volume swelled 6.8 percent to 14,401 from 13,480 homes last year. D.R. Horton said March sales of $1.5 billion set a record for the highest monthly sales in the company's history. Fiscal year-to-date, net sales orders have grown 26 percent to $6.8 billion from $5.4 billion, with volume rising to 24,302 homes, an increase of 11.9 percent from the year-ago period.
