Arlington, TX, October 7-- D.R. Horton Inc., the No. 1 U.S. home builder, on Thursday said quarterly net sales orders, for the fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30, rose 17 percent to $2.8 billion from the year-ago period as demand remained strong.
The company said net sales orders for fiscal 2004 increased 24 percent to a record $11.4 billion, representing 45,263 homes.
It was the first time that a homebuilder had sold more than 45,000 homes in the United States in a single year, the company said, adding sales momentum and record backlog ensure a strong start to another record year in fiscal 2005.
