Home Prices Off in November

New York, NY, January 30, 2007--The prices of existing single-family houses extended their slide in most regions in November, trimming annual price gains, according to an index of major metropolitan areas. The composite month-over-month Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller Home Price Index of 10 metropolitan areas declined 0.4 percent to 223.58, bringing the year-over-year gain to 1.3 percent, S&P said on its Web site. The composite month-over-month Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller Home Price Index of 20 metro areas also showed a 0.4 percent drop in November, to a 204.41 reading, or a 1.7 percentyear-over-year gain.
