Home Price Increases Slow in October

New York, NY, Jan. 2, 2015 -- U.S. home prices rose in October at a slightly slower pace, according to Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller 20-city home price index.

The measure of price increases rose 4.5% in October from a year ago. It was the 11th straight month of slowing price increases and was the smallest gain since October 2012.

The recent fall in mortgage rates has yet to result in more buyers. Also, there are fewer foreclosed homes coming onto the market to attract investors.
