Home Depot/Hughes Acquisition Clears Antitrust Per

Orlando, FL, February 14, 2006-- Home Depot’s acquisition of the Orlando, Florida-based, Hughes Supply, the distributor of construction, repair and maintenance-related products, cleared the waiting period under U.S. antitrust law, according to Hughes. The transaction remains subject to conditions including approval by Hughes Supply's shareholders. Hughes filed a preliminary proxy statement on the deal on Jan. 27th. The company said it awaits comments on the statement from the Securities and Exchange Commission and will respond to the agency.
