Home Depot to Close Georgia Lighting

Atlanta, GA, December 7—Home Depot will close Georgia Lighting, a provider of high-end decorative lighting fixtures, plumbing and antiques. Home Depot acquired Georgia Lighting and its six stores in 1999. The company had been in business for 44 years. In a statement, Home Depot said it plans to integrate Georgia Lighting into Expo Design Center, HD Supply and Pro Services division. In the past several years, three other Georgia Lighting locations closed. The acquisition provided Home Depot an opportunity to learn the high-end specialty lighting, accessories and special-order businesses. The move will affect 160 employees.
