Home Depot To Acquire Maintenance Supplier

Atlanta, Dec 2--The Home Depot (NYSE: HD) announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Economy Maintenance Supply Company ("EMS"). EMS, a wholesale supplier of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) products headquartered in Sterling, Va., will become part of The Home Depot's Maintenance Warehouse subsidiary and managed as part of The Home Depot Supply division. "EMS has a strong market position on the East Coast, particularly in supplying products to the hospitality industry," said Jim Stoddart, President of The Home Depot Supply. "The acquisition expands Maintenance Warehouse's leadership position in the MRO wholesale supply market by expanding its customer relationships, adding product offerings and enhancing special order capabilities." Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Completion of the transaction is subject to customary conditions. Maintenance Warehouse is an industry leader in sales of MRO products to owners and managers of multi-housing, lodging, educational and commercial properties and healthcare providers.
