Home Depot in Talks with Chinese Home Improvement

London, England, February 13, 2006--According to a report in the Financial Times, Home Depot Inc., is in talks to buy up to 49 percent of Chinese retail chain Orient Home for more than $200 million. The report noted that the talks were with Orient Group Inc., the parent of Orient Home, and cited people familiar with the situation as saying that the talks could still collapse. It said Orient Home has held talks with a number of international retailers but that Home Depot was the favorite.
