Home Depot Falls Off Fortune Most Admired List
Atlanta, GA, March 6, 2007--Fortune magazine's latest list of the nation's 20 most admired companies no longer includes Atlanta-based Home Depot.The retailer fell from the magazine's 13th spot last year, a position it held with Sandy Springs-based UPS.
This year, UPS ranked 16th and was the only Georgia-based company among the top 20. Delivery rival Fedex came in 6th, down from 2nd last year.
Fortune doesn't give an overall rank outside the 20, but it does rank companies within their industry groups. Home Depot came in fifth among 11 specialty retailers for 2007, according to the magazine's web site.
