Atlanta, GA, Apr. 9--Home Depot has named Annette Verschuren to head the 53 store Expo Design Center, according to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Verschuren will serve as interim president of the division while a replacement for Bob Wittman is sought. Wittman is retiring.
The permanent replacement for the position will report to Verschuren, who’s currently president of Home Depot Canada, a position she’ll retain. Verschuren, who has a background in design, was formerly the president of Michael's Canadian operation.
Home Depot has slowed its expansion of the Expo division. It opened only 11 new stores last year, and plans to open just two this year.
