Atlanta, GA, July 8--Home Depot has purchased three office buildings, for a total of 200,000 square feet, near the company’s Atlanta area headquarters, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The newspaper reported that the purchase price for the buildings at nearly $17 million. The deal closed on July 1.
The company has been leasing some office space in the area when it made the purchase.
The newspaper said that earlier this year, Home Depot began a reorganization of merchandising and field operations. At the time, the company said it would bring about 80 jobs to Atlanta, though some positions were eliminated. It also consolidated its Northern, Southern and Western division offices into its Atlanta headquarters, including bringing in divisional presidents.
