Beijing, China, January 10, 2007--Home Depot has opened its first store in Beijing after acquiring the operating right of Home World's 12 multiple shops in six Chinese cities, according to SinoCast.
The Home World is a large supermarket providing building materials in China.
It's reported that some shops of Home World building materials supermarkets are changing the name to Home Depot, including Henan Home World building materials supermarket (Henan, a provincial in the central China ). However, Home Depot hasn't explicitly announced its formal business in China.
On January 8, 2007, the former Home World's chain, the Home Way Fenzhong Temple shop in Beijing, has been renamed to Home Depot. According to sources, from January 1, 2006, Home Depot has begun to replace some shop signs of Home World.
