Holiday Online Retail Spending Up Double Digits

New York, NY, Dec. 23, 2010 -- Online retail spending is up 12% so far this holiday season compared to 2009, according to a report released by ComScore.

From Nov. 1 and Dec. 19, U.S. consumers spent $28.4 billion on retail items on the Web, up from $25.3 billion a year earlier.

In November, ComScore estimated that online holiday spending would grow between 7% and 9% from the same period a year earlier, or about triple the growth rate for overall retail sales.
