HD Green Day To Precede Design Expo

Las Vegas, NV, April 12, 2011 -- The 2011 Hospitality Design Exposition & Conference begins May 18, but on May 17 industry leaders will gather for HD Green Day to discuss socially responsible, ethical and eco-friendly practices within the world of hospitality design.

Both events will take place at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"Sustainable design is a growing area of the hospitality world, not only for functional reasons but for the aesthetics of the designs as well," said Elizabeth Sommerville, group show director for Nielsen Exposition's Hospitality Design Group.

One of the major highlights during HD Green Day will be keynote speaker Michael Jantzen, an internationally-renowned American artist and designer best known for his commitment to merge art, architecture, technology and sustainable design into one unique experience.

Other notable speakers will be William G. Langmade, LEED AP, president of Purchasing Management International, L.P., and Sara Schoen, hospitality sector manager of the U.S. Green Building Council.
