Harris Associates Raises Stake in Carpetright

London, England, July 16, 2007-- Harris Associates LP said it has raised its stake in UK flooring company Carpetright PLC to 9.28 percent, after it purchased 39,115 shares at 11.1050 pounds apiece.

Harris Associates is a US fund with no connection to Lord Harris of Peckham -- Carpetright's founder, chief executive and chairman -- who is considering a bid for the company.

On July 11, Harris had increased its stake to 9.14 percent after buying 49,730 shares at 11.2433 pounds per share.
