Hanley Wood Launches Reinvention 2004 Symposium

Washington, September 23-- Residential Architect -- the only national magazine focusing exclusively on the residential architecture profession -- will host Reinvention 2004: The Next American House, in Los Angeles, December 6-8. At Reinvention 2004, the leading thinkers and practitioners in American architecture will share their visions of how we will live tomorrow. The housing boom continues unabated. But new homebuyers are increasingly frustrated by the limited choices they face in their search for livable, imaginative, and affordable homes. Their demands promise to grow even more sophisticated in the years ahead. Architects will play a unique and critical role in meeting those demands, while preserving our precious supply of energy, resources, and land. Seminars at the Reinvention 2004 will focus on designing for the future, applying lessons from custom home, urban loft, and sustainable design to the larger fabric of mainstream housing. With these lessons in hand, the symposium will conclude with an onsite design charrette to develop the Next American House prototype. At this first-ever symposium hosted by residential architect magazine, Sarah Susanka, AIA -- architect, cultural visionary, and author of The Not-So-Big House and its sequels -- will deliver the keynote address. The panels and content have been developed by S. Claire Conroy, editor of residential architect, along with an advisory board consisting of: -- William Kreager, FAIA -- David Arkin, AIA -- Jeremiah Eck, FAIA -- Duo Dickinson, AIA -- Eric Naslund, FAIA -- Joseph Tanney, AIA -- Dennis Wedlick, AIA -- William Hezmalhalch, AIA For more information and a complete conference program, please visit www.reinvention2004.com Reinvention 2004 will be co-located with Hanley Wood's Luxury Kitchen & Bath Collection.
