Gulistan Closing Yarn Spinning Plant

Turnersburg, NC, Dec. 11, 2008--Gulistan Carpet Inc. said Wednesday that its Turnersburg yarn spinning plant will close, putting more than 100 employees out of a job.

Gulistan it's closing the facility Feb. 28, according to Gulistan's Director of Business Solutions Kermit Lewis.

The other two Gulistan facilities in the area will not be affected by the closure.

Lewis said the decision was made due to current economic conditions and the housing market.
