Groz-Beckert Develops New Artificial Turf Needle

Fort Mill, SC, Dec. 14, 2010 -- Groz-Beckert said it has developed a new tufting needle to improve the production of artificial turf.

The production of artificial turf for sports applications and for landscape design is the fastest-growing sector worldwide in the tufted floor covering sector.

The new needle provides higher machine speeds along with outstanding product quality, the company said.

In 2009, around 90 million square meters of artificial turf were laid worldwide, roughly 87% of it for sports surfaces and 13% for landscape.
