GreenGuard Heralds 100th Manufacturer at NeoCon
Atlanta, GA, June 11, 2007--As NeoCon World's Trade Fair 2007 welcomes over 50,000 design professionals this week in Chicago, GreenGuard Environmental Institute (GEI) announces that the 100th product manufacturer has joined the GreenGuard D Product Certification Program. The timing of these two significant events is not accidental; more than 40 participating manufacturers are exhibiting GreenGuard Certified products and GEI is presenting its continuing education program at the show. These events reinforce the interior design community's demand for products that sustain the environment and protect human health.
The world's largest show for interior designers, NeoCon sets the tone for the industry's latest trends and this year "green" continues to be a leading topic. With the attention of the design and manufacturing industries, NeoCon is the ideal venue for GEI to reach an audience of professionals that has helped sustainability become fashionable. Since its inception in 2001, GEI has helped to transform the manufacturing industry by certifying over 130,000 low-emitting products and educating more than 8,500 professionals through its Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The programs are aimed at educating participants on the importance of indoor air quality, while also providing a cursory overview of the different sustainable programs and green building strategies that exist in the marketplace. At NeoCon, GEI's Marketing Outreach Manager Melissa Haunson will be presenting Clearing the Air on IAQ on Wednesday, June 13th from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
"GreenGuard remains focused on serving as a reliable and knowledgeable resource on indoor air quality," said Carl E. Smith, CEO of GEI. "GEI's educational programs provide an excellent forum for communicating this important message, and through speaking engagements, exhibiting at national tradeshows and attending conferences and events throughout the year, we can educate a broader audience."
GEI plans to expand its educational focus on solutions from the commercial environment to schools, healthcare facilities and new construction practices. As the design community continues to drive the popularity of green buildings and products, GEI is a valuable resource for building professionals and consumers seeking to follow the best path towards sustainability. Through ongoing efforts, GEI is helping the public better understand the impact that good indoor air can have on our daily lives, whether at work, school or home.
