Grant to Retrain DuPont and Invista Workers

Wilmington, DE, June 28--Delaware is getting $1.6 million from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide job-related training for nearly 300 of the 735 workers being laid off this year by the DuPont Co. and Invista, its former textile and interiors business, according to Delaware online.com. About 85 Invista workers at DuPont's Experimental Station near Alapocas are expected to lose their jobs next month as a result of restructuring by Koch Industries Inc. of Wichita, Kan., which bought Invista in May. In addition, DuPont announced in April it would lay off 650 of its own workers as part of a global restructuring.
